Sanur Beach Club Proposal Rejected to Preserve Wellness Tourism Focus
Indonesia's Minister for Tourism and Creative Economies visited Bali this week to discuss the future of tourism on the island. One of the key topics addressed was the proposed development of a beach club in Sanur’s newly established Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Medical Tourism and Wellness. Sanur, a long-established tourist destination in Bali, has seen significant investment over the past five years, transforming it into the Sanur SEZ. This transformation includes the ongoing construction of the Bali International Hospital, set to open in late 2024, the extensive renovation of the iconic hotel now named The Meru, and the development of a new shopping mall and entertainment complex. Recently, there has been speculation about the possible establishment of a large beach club in central Sanur. Known for its calm and relaxed atmosphere, Sanur stands apart from the busier areas like Seminyak and Canggu. While Sanur offers late-night dining and bars, it lacks the large beach clu
